Key words: Vladimir-Suzdal Rus, white stone architecture, the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin on the Nerl River, inscriptions and graffiti, writing system, lifestyle paintings, epigraphic.
The article presents the complex of inscriptions and paintings-graffiti found on the walls of the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin on the Nerl River. Some of the inscriptions are being published for the first time, others – carved on the facades – were known for a long time but their paleographical and cultural analysis has not been carried out. Apart from this, paintings-graffiti of horses, which are of great rarity, are being considered. On the whole, the set of inscriptions and paintings not being different thematically from graffiti of another white stone building (excluding the paintings mentioned above) presents unknown earlier original facts of written and artistic culture adding new facts to the history of the famous architectural monument.
